DEVELOP+PRINT:
GARETH GARDNER GALLERY
@ A BIGGER BOOK FAIR 2026
A new iteration of our exhibition of self-published architectural photobooks and zines at A Bigger Book Fair 2026
Gareth Gardner Gallery – the UK’s only exhibition space dedicated to photography of architecture and place – presented the second edition of DEVELOP+PRINT in May 2026.
This time around, we were taking a stand at the fantastic A Bigger Book Fair, part of the annual Peckham 24 photography festival.
As well as showcasing publications related to recent exhibitions at the gallery, we launched an open call to source brand new self-published projects.
Among the highlights on display were a pair of new titles by Vladimir Guculak, and lauches by Jethro Marshall, Matthew White and Atik Bheda. We also featured recently-published titles by Ameena Rojee, Steve Ferrier, Mark Bessoudo and James Bollen.
DEVELOP+PRINT is an ongoing publishing initiative that explores emerging trends at the intersection of self-publishing and architectural photography. The programme celebrates the energy and commitment of photographers and artists who publish their work via self-publishing or through small independent publishers.

Highlights from the exhibition
James Bollen
Kyoto Alone
@jameshbollen
Self-published, 2025
Edition of 100, 80 pages
James Bollen’s photographs of Kyoto blend the city’s gardens, historic architecture and surrounding nature, capturing their geometrical and seasonal patterns.
Ameena Rojee
Crocus Valley
@ameenarojee
Published by RRB Photobooks, 2023
First edition, 56 pages
Crocus Valley is a love letter to Croydon, Ameena Rojee’s home.
It’s a purposefully unexpected glimpse and romantic view of this cultural and generational patchwork quilt of a place that’s supposedly empty of such romance. Scenes that are rarely, if ever, depicted in the media or spoken about.
The abundant nature and the not-so-hidden beauty doesn’t mean the very serious issues the borough faces don’t exist; however, like they do in all London boroughs, these extremes exist side-by-side. This is simply another side to Croydon’s truth.
Matthew White
London Orbital
@matthewhite1
Self-published, 2026
First edition of 25, 24 pages
London Orbital is an exploration of the M25 motorway on foot. Matthew White is walking around the entire length of the road, documenting the journey photographically. The zine represents the first time images from this ongoing project.
Mark Bessoudo
(Almost) Every Building on Bethnal Green Road
@markbessoudo
Self-published, 2025
Second edition, 42 pages
Bethnal Green Road has long reflected the changing face of East London — a mix of commerce, migration and everyday life.
This photobook documents the street through Google Street View, tracing its transformation from 2008 to 2024, revisiting the same sites across different years.
Atik Bheda
Where the Light Ends
@atikbheda
Self-published, 2026
First edition of 20, 22 pages
Shadow is where light becomes conscious of itself, finding its own edge. We do not see despite shadow; we see because of it. Form, depth, dimension: none are properties of light alone but born in the negotiation between light and dark.
This series turns to architecture as the site where that negotiation becomes most legible. In each image, the structure recedes. What comes forward is the boundary: the precise line where light surrenders and shadow takes over.
Jethro Marshall
Beautility
@westcountrymodern
Self-published, 2026
Edition of 80, 56 pages
A photographic and written compilation of recent rural typologies, looking at man-made interventions in the British landscape. Beautility is a celebration of the utilitarian and the mundane.
